Well, since my last post I have heard back from two of the places I applied to, both wanting interviews. The first was a phone interview, that I honestly cannot tell if it went well or not, but I am waiting to hear back about that one. The other wanted an in-person (I guess), but when the admin called to schedule “an interview” I asked “a phone or in-person interview” and it threw her into a tizzy. Took her an entire day to get back to me to let me know that it would be ok for me to do a phone interview, since I am “all the way in Texas”, um, ok. Maybe I don’t want that position after all……it would put us a little under 3 hours from our families (both my parents and my in-laws live in the same Ohio town), so for the girls, it would be great. We’ll see how the phone interview pans out. A job I really wanted, I was informed thanks, but no thanks. Hey at least they got back to me.
In other news, Annie turned 2 on Saturday, I cannot believe it. Me getting older doesn’t bother me. Pen getting older doesn’t bother me. Annie getting older, bugs the hell out of me. She has her 2 year check up on Friday, I think she is taller (finally), I’m not sure if she is any heavier since she.won’t.stop.moving.EVER. Or talking for that matter.
In an effort to channel my energy, I am working on a container garden plan. Our patio in the new place is so much nicer than the 2 we had in the old place (one had almost constant, beating Texas sunshine, the other was in the shade all day). This one has the perfect mix, plus a tree to help with the horrible Texas summer sun. I am debating between containers and runners plants or a gutter garden. We’ll see.
I’m headed to L.A. on Monday for a 1 day workshop, a nice little out of the office trip thanks to my (kick ass, if I do say so my self, not a hint of nerves and I was the first speaker on my panel!) presentation at the TRB Annual Meeting in D.C. back in later January. Being away helps me think of new ideas for my job (as well as helping me feel like people actually think I know what I’m talking about, unlike here).
